Dental Implant

What is a Dental Implant?

A dental implant is one of the methods to replace missing teeth. It is analogous to our natural tooth such that a screw is placed inside the jaw bone which acts as the root of the missing tooth. On this screw a ceramic crown is placed to replace the crown of the natural tooth.

What is it made of?

Dental implant is made of titanium which is a very compatible with the human body.

Why is everyone opting for dental implants these days?

Unlike other procedures, dental implant is the most conservative alternative for a fixed replacement of a missing tooth. It acts as a natural tooth and is very safe. It can be used to replace a single missing tooth as well as multiple teeth. The entire arch can be replaced with dental implants.

What does the procedure look like?

For placing an implant, we need to assess the quality and quantity of bone In which the implant will be placed. For this a scan called the CBCT is taken. On the basis of this scan we plan the placement of the implant After ensuring everything is favourable we start with the first step of placing the implant. This implant is given approximately 3 months to get integrated into the bone. After the implant has properly integrated into the bone we start the procedure of placing the crown on the implant.
