Our experts will first check your mouth for any cavities or problems that may prevent best results from whitening. Once that is done, your teeth will be cleaned and polish. This helps in quick and long lasting results from the whitening. Your gums will be covered and protected during the treatment. A whitening gel is applied all over your teeth, this gel causes a chemical reaction and makes your teeth brighter. Depending on the brightness desired this step is repeated 2-4 times. Usually a shade jump of 6-8 is achieved in the one-hour appointment.

Tooth Whitening at Home

The most common method for home tooth whitening is to visit your dentist and get a personalized bleaching tray fabricated. The dentist will take an impression of your teeth and get this tray made for you. The whitening gel is then loaded into the tray, a drop of gel for each tooth and the tray is then placed on your teeth. The tray will fit snugly since it has been specially made for you. It has to be kept in the mouth for the appropriate time duration depending on the strength of the gel. The tray could be worn at any point of time in the day or even overnight. It usually takes about 7 to 10 days of application to achieve the final results. The custom tray ensures that the gel coats the tooth surface intimately and thereby functions with maximum efficacy. Of course it also means that you have to visit your dental professional to get this custom tray fabricated.
